Portraits (Week 11)

Well - life is all about timing and I spent 5 hours in a tattoo parlor yesterday, so I thought it would be fun to be a bit self-indulgent and try to take a few shots of myself for this assignment. My main issue was not having a tripod or a good camera with a timer/remote to take the pictures, so instead I used my webcam that is at the top of my laptop. Obviously the resolution is awful - I tried to edit the photos and sharpen them some but it didn't look so good. So here are a few raw images... I used different techniques such as changing the direction of my head, incorporating props (my hand,a telephone), and looking into a "space" or away from the camera. I enjoyed my self though I felt silly doing some of the "poses", and in case you were wondering the piece still needs at least 2 more hours of work! Owie.

  1. Only two more hours left?? You're on the downside now...my left sleeve took over 16 hours and I already have 12 hours into my right sleeve (I sit for 4 hours per session...you're right, it can be a bit tender =)

    The self portraits are fun...and using the slideshow again is a nice way to show them off!

    Murph =)

  2. I like the use of the slide show and the frames. I also like the smooth movement through the slide show from one pose to the other.

  3. Great job Tori! I like how you used different techniques to capture your shots. The angles added a lot of dimension. BTW, the tattoo looks great. I have two so far and am thinking about adding a third one...we'll see. :)
