The first picture is my example of a monochrome color scheme. The orange flowers stand out just enough against the orange background (my wall) to make you appreciate the variety of tones there are!
The second picture is a row of candles on a shelf that I have as decor in my living room (as you can see, my living room is painted orange). I thought it was interesting that I chose a complementary color as an accent color to decorate with before I learned that it truly is "complementary". I edited this photo to make it a bit more appealing.
Tory,
ReplyDeleteI really like the orange monochrome picture. You're absolutely right, there is just enough variation form the flowers to your wall color to make them even "pop" out more...great capture!

I love the top photo. It is a piece of art. The candles look wonderful on that wall from any direction, but the close-up of the smooth glass of the votives, and the bumpy texture of the shelf, make it very appealing and not at all tiring to look at.

I really like the orange monochrome picture, there is such a abundance of orange saturating the shot, that even the stalks look like a shade of orange.
ReplyDeleteThe Blue really pops off the orange walls. I like the contrast, it keeps it interesting. You could have chosen to shoot this head on, but the side angel makes it even better. Nice job!
ReplyDeletePerfect examples of monochrome and complementary. I like the perspective you used on the candle photo.
