Subject: A picture of a squirrel having lunch off my porch.
Left: The subject centered in the middle of the shot.
Below: The subject placed on the right side of the shot using the "Rule of Thirds".
I am excited to see how using the Rule of Thirds can truly change an entire shot. Instead of forcing the viewer to look directly in the center of the photo at the subject of choice, the Rule of Thirds gives the viewer room for roaming eyes.
Here is another shot I took with this rule in mind:
AND your photo show just how crafty a squirrel can be when they want something to eat! Excellent shot, nicely composed!

I really like the third photo! It has an antique quality to it and is very soothing to look at. Good job!
ReplyDeleteSquirrels are the bane of my existence! They are constantly after my bird feeders. Love your pictures!
ReplyDeleteThe rule of thirds really changes your picture, and because the squirrel is one of the darkest objects in your picture the eye automatically focuses on the squirrel, by having the squirrel not centered it gives the eye a reason to wonder. Good example.
